Honestly, do I look like money?
I must have this aura of success, possibly eccentric entrepreneur success, dunno. Today I stopped into a 7-Eleven for some coffee and proceeded to spend 20 minutes blending hot cocoa, dark roast drip coffee, 12 packets of sugar, 5 squirts of assorted flavorings and 15 creamers to make a concoction, which I would assume would read "No Life!" to most bystanders.

Up comes the manager asking me if I can break a $100 bill which she'd just been offered by a customer. I decline, granted yes I actually did have that much on me, but I was wondering how she knew that? I comment to the scruffy bearded customer near me sporting the "Harley Davidson Motorcycles" patch, "Do I look like money?" He grins and I go on to list what's wrong with this picture.

First, I'm wearing NO jacket on a cold day, a stained corduroy shirt with a V-shaped tear in one arm, a pair of worn, faded, stained, ill-fitting blue jeans I literally paid $1.00 for at a yard sale, my driving glasses (which are themselves 11 year old chipped frames I simply had new lenses mounted in strictly for driving), and well, I'm near certain there was something else lacking about my appearance, but either I'm drawing a blank on what that might be, or maybe I'm just hesitant to say, even here. The customer I rattled all this off to looks pretty amused, I mean Harley's are expensive bikes and as such you'd think she'd have asked HIM before asking *me*.

Was this the 7-Eleven near your house? If so, maybe the manager assumes everyone in the "Potomac area" has money ;)
These days I don't think many people pay that much attention to what we wear since the casual style of dress has even taken over here in the East...or just maybe the manager is a fan of Smallville and seeing you triggered a picture of Lex Luthor in his/her mind, and then they saw $$$.

Lex Luthor?

I don't know what you could be referring to?

As for where, well it was Kensington, but the older, more run-down section and the shop was next to the hardware store there, not exactly upscale.

The clerk was a woman who appeared to be from India and she gave me the impression that she was not the couch-potato type.

I'm just boggled by 12 sugars, 15 creamers, and 5 squirts of god knows what. What is that, 500 calories of additives?

I can feel my teeth trying to escape in sympathy.

Perhaps your self confidence radiates power, which = money

All my teeth are still OEM

Or maybe my relaxed attitude, ie 'I've got all day to make this cup of coffee' which IMO stioll says I'm either retired or retarded.

boggled by my liquid diet?

I'd been up all night and needed some fast sugar and caffiene to tide me over until I got home for a "real meal"

It's nice to have fans

Yeah, I know what you like. :-) Still a little too cold for shaving my head... I'm thinking April, maybe May, maybe sooner if you are a very very good little girl.
