Pan Fried Steak
Steak and related beef products were the first things I ever learned to cook, after fried eggs and pasta. I started broiling, then took a feeble attempt at pan frying, hamburger soup, grilling, chuck rotisserie, deep frying, roasting all with great success after some practice... Well all except for “Pan Frying” which always kinda struck me as a joke.

Today, I tried pan frying again, but with a much more learned approach. I used olive oil and a “dry rub” I used my remote probe thermometer with alarm that I used for all other forms of cooking meats including deep frying.

It came out really great. In fact it came out so well I photographed it. I often photograph meats I cook when they come out to a higher level of perfection than I am used to, but I was so unsure of this I hadn’t even planned on it.

As you can see, I have included a photo of it. That must have come as a shock to someone. If anyone wishes to suggest it looks raw in the middle, well that’s just the effect you get from the 100 dpi jpeg. I’ll gladly email a higher-res image if you really care.

My apologies if I make you hungry. I guess I can either invite you to dinner or just say “Bite me!” :-O

Re: he photographed his meat....

You suppose that's gonna give me a reputation around here?
