How exactly were Obama's minister's words "Against America"? - One person's lack of compassion does not equal another's comfort.
One person's lack of comprehension does not equal another's consent.
How exactly were Obama's minister's words "Against America"?
... and not Against America's Deeds?

Outside of saying "God Damn America", everything I've read suggests that this Minister simply has a very accurate international perspective.

How is it wrong to say that the reason America is at risk from terrorism is in any way due to our country's actions? I realize the majority of American citizens are spoon fed this sugar coated idea that we are faultless victims of hateful ideologies of a few Middle Eastern countries, but how is it possible that the (hopefully) more educated Republican media is apparently so entirely unaware of the truth of this minister's statements?

The following is copied from this (otherwise anti-Obama) article

Earlier in the week, several television stations played clips in which Mr. Wright, of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, referred to the United States as the “U.S. of K.K.K. A.” and said the Sept. 11 attacks were a result of corrupt American foreign policy.

On Friday, Senator John McCain’s campaign forwarded to reporters an article in The Wall Street Journal in which Mr. Wright was quoted as saying, “Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run,” and accusing the United States of importing drugs, exporting guns and training murderers.

Our government actually admits to shipping guns and giving training to terrorists of other countries which we arbitrarily named "Freedom Fighters" to make them seem more noble.

Only shortly prior to the invasion of Iraq it was briefly reported that the reason we KNEW Saddam had Anthrax was that under Reagan, America GAVE weaponized Anthrax, a bio-weapon banned under International Law, to Saddam to illegally use on his neighbors.

That Obama may have been so "educated" by this minister does not worry me at all. In fact it gives me hope that the "New Direction" he plans for America is one marked by improved foreign relations and ethics.

Since well before 9/11 it has bothered me to realize that American Pharmaceutical companies profit off the sick as callously as they do, but our government strikes questionable bargains with Middle East leaders to prevent them from profiteering similarly off of us.

Please also see this other anti-Obama article in which the claim is that the mainstream media is sweeping this story under the rug. While reading it, please also note that while the minister is accused of making "Anti-American" statements, very few of his words are quoted, suggesting the Republican website, "NewsMax" posting this article is afraid that readers might seek and find the truth of his remarks.
