For those of you who don't know this, I recently bought my cat a heating pad which I placed on my bed so that during those times I don't keep the bedroom so warm but she's with me, she can be a bit warmer (also I take it in the living room when I want her to sit beside me while I watch a movie.)

For the past 30 minutes or so I was working in the kitchen and also feeding my cat. When I returned to the bedroom my cat followed me back in, walked around to the foot of the bed, lept up on the bed and *pounced* onto the heating pad as if it were a mouse in danger of escaping...

... and it was not even warm! She's currently in the meatloaf position huddled as if to get warm. I've just turned it on and within the next five minutes I should have an especially happy cat.

[Edit: 5 mins later, on very content cat. I should have done this years ago]

Edit: My cat heating pad was apparently designed to wrap around achy joints. It is however, in my opinion, "CAT-shaped". The Sunbeam 901-8 as purchased at Costco, nearly identical to this one

Ok, I'll have to try this. It's been below zero here for a week, and I'm starting to feel like a cat warmer myself. Maybe they need a kitty heating pad. (Just to refresh your memory, I have six...that's a lot of cats on the bed at night...)
