Last night I finally got to watch idiocracy (IMDB) here is the trailer and its retarded depiction of the future of the world is disturbingly like the world I presently live in. This article about the needs of those silly enough to purchase homes below sea level, especially after the flooding New Orleans, somehow reminds me of this movie.

But not just that one recent news story either. So often I hear advertising and news reports where it is obvious that the english language is being dumbed dwon to the absolute lowest common denominator. Especially ads for medical drug trials. I can't recall the term they use, but it is clearly in an effort to make it sound somewhat less like they are paying people to be human ginuea pigs.

Is replacing drinking water with essentially Gatorade on tap really that far fetched in a country whose ground water has been largely polluted by a toxic fuel additive?

Take politics. America is attacked by Osama who is an Arab and yet somehow the majority of Americans have been lulled into believing that he was Iraqi or that in some manner Iraq was behind 9/11, even though absolutely no evidence was ever presented to support either, outside of the offhand remarks Bush occasionally makes. For an entire country to be so entirely misled by the unsubstantiated words of its president suggests a pretty gullible populous.

For those of you who don't think you are going to see the entire movie, here is a 10 minute clip someone posted to Youtube.
