Wii KILLS! - One person's lack of compassion does not equal another's comfort.
One person's lack of comprehension does not equal another's consent.
I would have thought that after Eric Cartman locked himself in his mom's freezer people would have realized how dangerous this gaming system was, but now that the victims are limited to cartoon characters, maybe people will actually listen!

I wouldn't blame the Wii in this case: the station was criminally (probably, I haven't the CA revised code) stupid in holding a competition of this type, whether for a Wii or a car or cash. I'm surprised only one person died; if they'd asked a single medical professional if this was safe, they'd still be picking their eardrums up off the floor.

Nevertheless this is still a Wii related death. This would not be the first time in history people died because they were willing to do something desperate for something they could really have lived without. (pun intended)

I understand what you are saying. For example, I would not have blamed the manufacturers of 3 wheel ATC's for the deaths of children riding them. The fault belonged to the parents who put their children as young as age three on off road vehicles capable of speeds up to 50 mph. The fact that fewer children have died on the 4 wheel ATCs that replace them is as much a factor of the increased cost of manufacturing them with four wheels as it is a factor of the slightly increased stability.

Well, okay, the Wii does make it extra-stupid. Maybe even Darwin stupid.
