Apple being sued for monopolistic practices!
Specifically regarding its iPod line of products! It's about frickin time!

Wasn't I just talking about this? Really? here's the article

And here is the most important excerpt:
Apple violates antitrust laws by preventing music bought at its iTunes online music store from being played on any device besides the iPod, the Post reports.
Tucker wants class-action status for the suit, which also says Apple does not clearly disclose that its store and device are exclusive of other companies' products.

You know? I'm not surprised. Apple's iPod has long been a thorn in my side. I decided to go against the grain and purchase an mp3 player that wasn't an iPod (a Creative Zen MicroPhoto). I've found, much to my chagrin and eternal frustration, that basically every neat accessory out there is solely available for the iPod (e.g. docking stations and the like). I hope that this lawsuit starts changing things for us not in iPod Land, but fear it will not. I'm already intending to buy an iPod as soon as I have enough money to spare.

The iPods have a great deal of limitations and so to their matching accessories. If you feel that you need accessories not offered for non iPod units, please tell me what they are and I will direct you to vendors for them. There's really quite a lot out there if you know here to look.
