Comcast has been *deleting* my email lately!
Apparently Comcast has joined the list of ISPs to DELETE legitimate email in the name of spam reduction. If you are a COMCAST user you should open this link and see what settings you have been assigned.

In short, you want either both on or both off. Having the filter turned on but the "local folder" turned off means that they are denying you access to mail THEY think is spam.

Last night a friend of mine who is also using Comcast commented to me that he has not received ANY spam in the past week and that although he is pleased not to see spam, it seems very unlikely that spammers all simply stopped in the past week.

So today I did a little investigating and discovered that in sometime in the past few months, Comcast activated a spam filter without telling me, *and* although there was the option to give me access to the filtered spam, (that I might sort through it and recover some mail I've been missing) Comcast also opted to turn that feature off for my email.

There is legit mail I've been waiting patiently for but never received. Other people I know personally have told me in recent weeks they'd sent me something but it would not be there when I looked... NOW I know why.

I've never used my Comcast email account. I just use them for internet access. I don't even know my Comcast UN and PW, as i've not signed in since i initially set it up.

I know my Comcast UN and PW because I've had to set up a few computers for Internet access, but like you I only use it for net access and use a standard ISP for e-mail.
