I would like to restrict the use of antibiotics on conservatives - One person's lack of compassion does not equal another's comfort.
One person's lack of comprehension does not equal another's consent.
I would like to restrict the use of antibiotics on conservatives
You might consider this personal bias on my part but I feel deep down that if conservatives and their children are allowed to use antibiotics they might live long enough to vote or worse reproduce.

On the flip side, here's a story about how conservatives would like to restrict the use of a new vaccine that can prevent cancer, because they are afraid that innoculating teenage girls before they get infected might make them more sexually promiscuous. They have a point you know maybe it would be better to just let them get cancer?

What's particularly rediculous about this is that most schools to not even succeed in teaching that HPV, the virus that causes this sort of cancer, is even OUT THERE let alone the fact that condoms are not even reliable to prevent its spread which is why it is estimated that 80% of americans already have it!

In other words, restricting the vaccine from those who don't have the virus yet won't change anything because most of them don't even know they are in danger. What restricting the vaccine does mean is that if these girls are raped they are substantially more likely to get cancer even if they don't get AIDS.

Yeah. the conservative outcry over an HPV vaccine (vaccines for HSV are also in the works) is so totally something that one would expect in a theocracy, not here. "I'm so confident my daughter will act as I wish that I don't want to protect her from something that causes cancer, as that gives the wrong message."

I thought of you when I saw this alternet article on the state of abortion rights already: http://www.alternet.org/rights/31199/

Complete lunacy, agreed. I don't know what gives with these folks. I mean, one of my dearest and best friends got VD -- from HER HUSBAND. The wingnuts have no possible answer to that one. The vaccine is needed, given its spread in the population, for all women. Full stop.

But the pedant in me can't help but note that reduced use of antibiotics is beneficial. It's the flagrant overuse of same that breeds super bacteria...
