This new anti-harrassment law could endanger Live Journal
This new law recently signed by Bush prohibits annoying people via the Internet without properly identifying yourself. It is not entirely clear to me if that means truly anonymously, as in posting annonymous comments in one's LJ or if using our LJ names is good enough.

I would think our LJ names are safe simply because if we threatened someone on LJ and the police became involved a judge could subpoena LiveJournal records to track our actual identity. That's assuming Bush is sane of course... and the law is written to recognize trackable aliases.

dear god. annoying people can be SO FUN. I would have never gotten into this whole internet thing if it wasn't for flaming opportunities. and ebay.

I agree! Perhaps we can create a private service where anonymity is protected and users can be rude and flame each other all the time with impunity. I would call it AOL.
