Craving Fried Chicken
For the past hour I've been recalling the best fried chicken I've ever had and craving it. More specifically I'm craving something I've not had in such a long time I'm afraid to say it even here as most of you won't be able to understand what I mean.

Once upon a time, KFC actually used to make REALLY good fried chicken. Today the average Popeye's is better and there are hole in the wall fried chicken stores that sell stuff sort of like what I recall. Whatever it is called today, that's what I'm craving.

If anyone reading this lives in my general vicinity and has a place to recommend, please comment with a recommendation.

Regardless of your location on the planet, if anyone reading this has been enjoying really good fried chicken between 7:15pm and 8:15pm US Eastern Time, I'd still like to know about it.

There's a chain in Baltimore called Tyrone's. It's owned by a former client of my father's and is quite possibly the best I've ever had.

I can't really recommend anything, as its possible that I have bad taste in this area - I actually prefer my own fried chicken, or popeye's!

Your OWN???

Granted I have a deep fryer myself which will soon be employed to make the delicious fried chicken component of my (locally) famous "Chicken Korma" recipe, but it is not what I'm currently craving. If you have a recipe or tips or... a desire to engage in a favor exchange, I'd be interested in anything you have to offer.

In the meantime I'll probably go to one of the better popeyes restaurants in the area of which there are three. I seem to recall that when I was living in Baltimore the Checkers chicken was top of the line, but when they opened one in my area it was only good for a short time following the grand opening. If I have to go to Baltimore for good Chicken I'll probably try the afore mentioned "Tyrones"

Up near University & Georgia there's a Campero Chicken. People bring the stuff home with them on planes; my flight back from Guatemala about half the plane were carrying boxes of fried chicken. They just came up here to Maryland a short while back; I think there's also one in Tacoma/Adelphi.

That sounds like a really solid recommendation and a lot closer than Baltimore. Maybe I could treat you to dinner there sometime as a means of thanking you?

I've actually already had my chicken fixx, in as much as the restaurant where we held the last MUMSFS actually serves very good fried chicken, although I didn't realize that until I ordered it, and on top of that it was outrageously expensive for the amount served. In KFC terms it a dinner box quantity at a bucket price.

I won't even ask you what you were doing in Guatemala, but I'm thinking there must have been a typo in your comment... they were bringing Silver Spring purchased chicken back on the plan "from Guatemala"?
