My LJ *was* "broken" and so may *yours* be!
This evening while chatting online with browneyedgirl65 she caused me to become aware that certain necessary features of LJ weren't working. When she tried to show me how to fix these problems, it became obvious that the means to fix the problem was not available either. I was beginning to feel like that guy on Stargate in the diving suit who got stuck on the wrong side of the universe without a DHD.

To find out if you have the problem I was having, first got to this link:

http://www.livejournal.com/manage/

Then scroll down the left side until you come to "Customization" It should look more or less exactly like this:

Customization
Customize the look of your journal pages:
* Customize Journal
* Advanced Customization
* Links List
* Set Your Mood Theme
* Mood Theme Editor

If that's what you see, you don't need to make any changes. If however it does not. If instead the options read like this:

Customization
Customize the look of your journal pages:
* Modify Journal
* Set Your Mood Theme
* Mood Theme Editor

Then you need to fix your journal. To do so, Copy the following link into your browser but replace "fixx" with your own LJ name

Http://www.livejournal.com/customize/?journal=fixx

That will show you the page you are lacking that allows you to repair the problem.

From the style menu, select "new system (S2) and press "Change" beside the box. You are done. Now if you go back to my first link above you will find that the "customization" menu has changed and there are new options. The first option will be "customization" and if you open that you will see the same screen where you changed the style system change, except NOW you can access it without using this LJ Entry you are reading!

Actually I only set out to change the colors of the links that I place inside the text of my entries because with this color scheme the were invisible until I'd mouse over them.

It took me a couple tries to change the colors of the "main visited link" and changed "main link" first and then decided it was nice that way.
