*New* form of necrophilia - One person's lack of compassion does not equal another's comfort.

*New* form of necrophilia
I suppose it isn't really that new. Lots off serial killers have killed their victims before raping them, but most of the time, or so I previously believed, they at some point at least faced them while they were alive. This news story I just came across is of a young man (age 17) who attempted to kill a woman, a complete stranger out jogging, with his SUV so that he could THEN have sex with her corpse.

This approach makes less sense to me. If you don't care to know ANYTHING about the person she might as well already be dead. Of course I may be underestimating the difficulties involved finding attractive dead women to rape. I have to wonder if this kid had ever had sex with a living woman (most likely not, I'd guess).

What could society have done to prevent this? Make sex with dead women more accessible to teens? Make sex with live women more accessible to teens? Teach adults to fear jogging near high schools? That's it, adult women should not jog near high schools as that's where the scary teens come from!

I can go on about this.

Some people just like the floppy, inert body. Some people... Well... Just don't feel like they have a "chance". I slept around a lot as a teen 'cause I figured nobody would ever want to actually settle down with me. (I was wrong, mind you.)

I figure that's what the case was like with him, as they didn't go into specifics. I mean, he looks a lot like I did in high school. Plain, large... And girls don't "go" for that type.

The article also specifies that he had a deteriorating psychotic mental condition, which can explain a lot.

I honestly feel sorry for him, and I think I understand at least part of what was going through his mind.

I'm afraid I'm far less sympathetic. As long as he's gone from the streets permanently, I'm happy. If he gets treatement, that's all well and good as long as he stays locked up.

Plenty of "plain, overlooked" people do just fine in life without deciding to mow someone down for personal gratification, y'know?

That said, he gets a point or two for 'fessing up to it and taking responsibility in pleading guilty directly.
