Art Imitates Life (again)
Entering the house today I checked my mail half of it junk mail and one item an ad for Popeyes chain of fried chicken restaurants. It read:

"Welcome to the Great Taste of New Orleans"

Somehow that did not make me hungry.

Checking my mail on a mailing list today I received thing link to an Onion story about the situation down there and it reminded me of that ad.

New Orleans Food...NOT

My friend from work has been getting daily email offers for a Cajun Turkey, which of course these days seems completely unappetizing...and INAPROPRIATE to say the least. You would think these people would be aware of the awful timing of their ad campaigns! Any type of food having any connection with that area automatically makes me think of one thing: New Orleans Soup. I know. Gross.

Re: New Orleans Food...NOT

Popeyes did in fact start in New Orleans, and their seasoning and condiments are all shipped from that area.

Yeah, the ad campaign probably is ill timed at the moment, but it's not your usual cluelessness.
