To better understand the debate you need to understand that in the minds of the sort of zealots who are trying to reduce access to this form of birth control (and even ordinary contraceptives), even IUD's are themselves a form of abortion because they prevent the fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus, a far cry from the the image that the anti abortionists like to use to scare young people into becoming anti abortionsist which is practically that of dismembered babies. In their world you (or your girlfriend, sister or daughter) will either be celibate or pregnant by 18. Is that the sort of world you want to live in?

And this is NARAL hosted site allows you to take action with just a couple mouse clicks. By clicking this link you can rapidly sign an online petition to assist the availability of the "morning after" pill, a form of "emergency contraception" which even in the mind of many anti-abortionist types is preferable to what most of us think of as "an abortion".

If you are unaware of how the morning after pill works, just google it and read about it. In short it is the lesser of two evils, but reducing its accessibility WILL result in more "real abortions" not fewer. The folowing link is to a Pro Life hosted page which actually makes a fairly convincing argument against most forms of contraception. Read it and maybe you can sign up for celibacy?

Tell her that around two thirds of all fertilized eggs, without contraception being involved in any way, are spontanious miscarried (most before the sixth week after fertilization.) Every female who has unprotected sex is essentially a moving abortion clinic (which makes abstaining quite attractive, except...) Copper IUDs prevent fertilization of the egg (and therefore isn't causing abortions) because it makes the environment toxic to sperm. IUDs used with condoms should be close to abstaining, but far more enjoyable!

She's also against bc for anyone unless it's a medical thing though.

When you say "BC" are you referring to all forms of birth control including condoms and vasectomy? In her world would having a vasectomy or having your tubes tied be an illegal operation requiring a court order?

She's one of the few that are far-right socially.
I'm not sure why she likes me so much but eek!
She's a little militant sometimes.

Is it possible that her particular flavor of "far right" deems lesbianism as a form of abstinence?

In my previous comment I asked for clarification regarding any form of birth control. I think you understand you have to draw the line somewhere. If keeping the sperm from meeting the egg by means of the use of a condom is somehow translated into equating abortion then these people are litterally saying they want to pass laws to tell other people how to live.

You might ask her how she feels about interracial marriage. I hear some folks actually want to make that illegal again too.
