Late season flu outbreak?
With several of my friends telling me they are sick and me with wierd symptoms I did some checking and found this article.

It appears that there has been a real flu outbreak in my area and considering all the exhaustion and exposure I've suffered in recent weeks it is rather surprising I'm as healthy as I've been. I guess this says a lot for "Airborne"

Yeah, an honest-to-god flu outbreak in the DC area was decreed about 10 days ago. Two friends of min in Rockville just got over it, and my Sister and nephew in Woodbridge are in last stages of it.

"Flu season is not over, not by a long shot," he [Reed] said.

And not by a flu shot either, agentxs said.

About the same number of people die each year in the US from the flu (flu killed 257 in 2001) as die from alcohol poisoning (317 is the three year average for 1996-1998.) I'm excluding the numbers where flu or alcohol is considered to be a contributing factor, e.g. flu+pneumonia or alcohol+drug OD, which are obviously going to be considerably higher.

According to my NP,

what I had was not the flu, but some unspecified viral infection. I did not have some symptoms typical of the flu, but I did have extreme fatigue, body aches, the sweats, and minor nausea/stomach upset/reduction in appetite. *shrug*

Something sure is knocking people on their butts, though.
