McCain is NOT even slightly Pro-Choice! - One person's lack of compassion does not equal another's comfort.

McCain is NOT even slightly Pro-Choice!
Contrary to the likeable impressions he has given so many people, McCain is NOT even slightly Pro-Choice. McCain claims: "If I am fortunate enough to be elected as the next President of the United States, I pledge to you to be a loyal and unswerving friend of the right to life movement."

Quoted from his statement at the January 22, 2008 Statement at the March for Life in Washington, DC, Click here for article

Please note that in that article only 300 thousand Americans joined Naral to vote AGAINST anti-choice candidates in 2006. The population of the US is actually 300 million. That means that those of us who are being active enough to even choose to be such informed voters for choice are literally one out of one thousand! For us to win, we have to be willing to discuss our concerns with our friends and made sure that they are equally informed. If each of us only ensures that 10 of our not-so-well-informed friends are made aware of these issues even that alone is not enough to ensure success. To win, we must inform others and hopefully get them to subscribe to such pro-choice online activism sites such as the one I have linked above.

In the past four years of Republican rule, we have already lost the Federally protected right to a safe and legal abortion. Some states have already sought to make abortion illegal in all cases EVEN IN CASES OF RAPE AND INCEST! Seems hard to believe? See this article

Although that one ban was struck down, it would not have even been attempted were it not for the right wing's success at packing the supreme court with judges who would vote to erode Roe v Wade to the point where it no longer guarantees a woman's right to choose regardless of where in the united states she happens to live.

Your moderate Republican friends may tell you that you are mistaken, that the Republican party does not itself aim to end all access to abortion in this country, I'm asking you to set them straight. If this is not their aim, then why are there so many extremists in office already, and why is the Republican Presidential candidate making pledges like this?

This isn't exactly news. The only pro-choice Republican candidate was Giuliani.

While there are issues where McCain has some moderate tendencies, abortion has never ever been one of them.
