No, the forest service cannot put up new trees. They manage the ecosystem as best they can, at least that is what they are supposed to do. They are certainly not supposed to poison wildlife where protected lands border private lands. If people don't want wildlife on their private lands they should not live there or they should invest in better fences.

The Forest Service wants to make it easier to poison and kill prairie dogs on the American plains -- risking creatures like burrowing owls, hawks, swift fox and the critically endangered black-footed ferret.

It offends me that our government employs people who have such a skewed impression of the environment and the importance of their jobs that they would even think this was reasonable.
