I've seen "An Inconvenient Truth" - One person's lack of compassion does not equal another's comfort.
One person's lack of comprehension does not equal another's consent.

I've seen "An Inconvenient Truth"
Now that I've seen the movie I'm a believer. If anyone of you has any doubts about the imporantance of taking Global Warming seriously, please see this film. If you don't think it applies to you or is a hoax, see it anyway.

If you saw the movies "What the BLEEP do we know" and, like me, didn't take it seriously because you figure as I do that it was either a farce or the producers were on crack, I invite you to try to poke holes in the science of this film. This is not a hoax. Go see it!

it's opening in stages. NYC a couple weeks back, another 10 cities last week, another 20 (I think) this week... .some parts of the country won't have it till late june.

Nothing will make a believer out of someone who thinks the whole thing is a hoax. I've dealt with too many folks like this. No matter what's in the film they'll say it's lies, or rigged up or whatever.

I'll have to find some time to see it, though. I would very much like to know what it shows.

I saw it. It was pretty good. I agree that the movie will probably do the "convince your friends and bore your enemies" thing, but I think it might go a long way to cure some of the outrage fatigue amongst progressives after almost six years of a Bush Presidency. The only problem I see is that it seems that the GOP is routinely stealing elections these days (for instance, this article, recently posted by Rolling Stone Magazine, details how unlikely it is that the Ohio 04 presidential election wasn't stolen by the Republicans) and I'm not seeing a clear way to prevent them from stealing more elections in the future. I guess the best we can do is make it harder for them to do so without being noticed.
